What are Playlists and why do they matter?

Playlists - are you leveraging them to maximise your team's revenue output?

Playlists, you know what they are, I know what they are - there's no need to do this dance so let's cut to the chase! Where you're probably curious is how they work within Jiminny and what value playlists can have on your teams onboarding and revenue generation? 


What are Playlists within Jiminny? 
Playlists are a fantastic way that you can organise your call recordings into topic areas within Jiminny. Playlists can be broken down into three distinct tier levels:

  1. Playlist
  2. Folder
  3. Subfolder

This enables you to be more granular in how you present your playlists and how they're organised to streamline both the order of content and the sections.


How are Playlists Organised?
Playlists and folders are organised in alphabetical order as standard however you have the ability to reorder tracks within each folder via drag and drop.

For Folders and of Subfolders, they are ordered in the date that they are added / modified however you can drag and drop them into the correct order that suits your goal. 

You can have tracks and folders within the top two layers of the tree structure (Playlist + Folders) but only tracks for Subfolders as there are no further tiers at present. We're not looking for a "Subfolder Inception" situation ideally. 


What are my Playlist / Folder Actions?
There are a few options available to you depending on your permissions for a specific playlist and we'll run through what those look like now: 

  1. Sharing:
    - When you share a Playlist, you can share it with anyone within your organisation who has access to Jiminny. 
    - Folders and subfolders cannot be shared individually, the broader Playlist must be shared accordingly. 

  2. Add
    - You can add tracks or snippets to one Playlist or multiple Playlist's at once which is great for quickly compiling multiple playlist for onboarding purposes!
    - Tracks can be added within Jiminny, the App, Sidekick or the Mobile App so you can customise and create Playlists for your Jiminny account anytime, anywhere!

  3. Remove
    - Similarly, you can remove Folders / Subfolders or Tracks from Playlists at the various tiers. 

  4. Lock/Unlock
    - Playlists can be locked which will impact all of the corresponding Folders, Subfolders and Tracks within that specific Playlist; meaning that changes cannot be made to the Playlist until it is unlocked. 
    - Folders / Subfolders / Tracks cannot be unlocked on their own, it is controlled at the Playlist level. 

  5. Rename
    - Playlists, Folders and Subfolders can be renamed by a host of different user types depending on their access levels, which includes being able to rename a Playlist when they're locked. 

  6. Delete
    - Playlists can be deleted by the Playlist owner only. 
    - Folders / Subfolders can only be deleted by the Playlist owner too. 

  7. Remove from view
    - Let's set the scene, you've been sent an onboarding Playlist by your new boss which is mandatory for all new starters. This is automatically sent to everyone in the team. 
    - You cannot "Remove from View" Playlists that are sent to a team / organisation but you can remove a Playlist from view if it has been sent to your individually. 
    - Note that these actions will not delete it, it will simply be removed from your view.

Fantastic Use cases for Playlists
A couple of ideas to get you started: 

  1. Onboarding and Enablement:
    - Playlists are a highly effective way of onboarding new starters 3x quicker. 
    - Through curation, you can showcase real meetings and what best practice looks like, how sales reps outline the value proposition, what questions prospects are asking and more. 
    - This process is one of the most effective ways to train new members of your team and have them contributing to your revenue goals quicker. 

  2. Competitive Analysis
    - Capture snippets and calls where competitors are mentioned and build out a subfolders for each competitor or type of conversation. 
    - This will enable Sales to understand who is coming up, Marketing to understand how to build campaigns to target select competitors and benefits across the business. 

  3. Product Insights for Product / Marketing:
    - Being able to hear the voice of the customer can reveal some high quality insights into what other competitor product are offering and what kind of functionality customers want.
    - By curating playlists on these insights, you're able to build new features which align incredibly well with the actual customer demands.

Deleting a playlist:
- Only the Playlist Owner can delete Folder, Subfolders or Tracks within the overarching Playlist. 
- More complex permissioning actions may be introduced in the near future.
